For those accustomed to a life of distinction, where the finer things are not just desired but expected, Aman Maldives presents itself as the ultimate expression of luxury.

Nestled within the remote Vavuu Atoll, this private island resort is not merely another addition to Aman’s already illustrious portfolio—it is an invitation to experience a level of seclusion and elegance that few have the privilege to encounter.

Set in the Vavuu Atoll, a place so remote you may need to consult a cartographer to find it, this private island resort promises to take exclusivity to dizzying new heights. Or, more appropriately, depths, given the number of private pools on offer.

The Aman Maldives will offer 52 standalone pavilions and 16 branded residences because, clearly, one pavilion is never quite enough. Each comes with its own private pool, of course, because nothing says "I've arrived" quite like doing a solo backstroke under the Maldivian sun. As you might expect, these residences are strategically scattered across individual islets, allowing you to feel both at one with nature and comfortably distant from, well, everyone else.

Design: Where Simplicity Meets  Luxury

The architecture here is inspired by the Maldives’ iconic white coralline beaches and the sort of turquoise waters that make even your Instagram feed seem inadequate. The buildings themselves, designed by Kerry Hill Architects (Aman’s go-to team for creating jaw-droppingly beautiful structures), blend seamlessly into the landscape.

And because Aman understands the delicate balance between solitude and gastronomy, they’ve scattered multiple dining venues around the resort. Whether you’re after a meal in the beach club or a private dining spot hidden somewhere only your butler knows about, it’s all thoughtfully arranged to ensure your next meal is as effortless as, well, breathing.

The Spa: Because You Deserve an Entire Island

Not content with just offering a run-of-the-mill wellness experience, Aman Maldives takes things up a notch with a spa that sits on its very own island. That’s right—a whole island dedicated to ensuring you return from your holiday so rejuvenated that people won’t recognise you at passport control. The spa spans over 8,600 square feet and includes two private Spa Houses, because if you’re going to relax, you might as well do it properly.

Residences: Privacy on an Epic Scale

The 16 Aman Residences are exactly what you’d expect—opulent, expansive, and most likely bigger than your London apartment, even your Wiltshire weekend retreat. Ranging from five to ten bedrooms, they’re perfect for those who enjoy the company of friends and family, or for those who simply enjoy the luxury of having several unused rooms. And with each residence set on its own islet, featuring a private beach and a 25-metre swimming pool, the question of whether you’ll ever want to leave becomes increasingly rhetorical.

For the truly adventurous (and let’s face it, adventurous in an Aman way), each residence also comes with its own personal landing jetty. This means you can now arrive at your luxury hideaway by boat without all that faff of check-in.

Aman’s Grand Maldivian Arrival

According to Vlad Doronin, Aman’s chairman and CEO, this new venture has been a long time coming. “The introduction of Aman Maldives is a significant milestone for our brand… Bringing Aman’s ethos of timeless elegance, unparalleled service, and ultimate privacy to the Maldives has long been part of our strategy.” It seems Aman has finally answered the call of its loyal guests—because even in the land of five-star resorts, Aman looks to add that perverbial sixth.

Construction is well underway, though the exact opening date remains a tantalising mystery. Until then, we can only speculate when the gates to this private island utopia will swing open, allowing the select few to experience what promises to be a rather pleasant Maldivian escape.

If the Maldives isn't your patch of sand there's always Aman Amanvari. Aman's new destination in Mexico will offer a peaceful escape and private oasis at the edge of the Sea of Cortés. But you'll have to wait until 2027 for Aman Niseko. That one will be nestled amongst Hokkaido, Japan’s untamed northern wilderness - Aman's forth property in Japan.
