At the goods, we take privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit gethegoods.com, subscribe to our newsletter, contact us, work with us or otherwise interact with the goods, and how we use and protect that information.
We aim to collect only the information we need and to explain what we do with it in plain language.
Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
Information you give us, including your name, email address, company, job title and anything you choose to include when you:
- subscribe to our newsletter;

- enquire about partnerships or the goods studio;

Our legal bases for using your information

Consent. For example, when you choose to subscribe to marketing emails or consent to non-essential cookies.
Legitimate interests. We may process information where reasonably necessary to operate and improve the goods, understand our readership, respond to business enquiries, protect our website or manage our professional relationships, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
Contract. Where processing is necessary to provide something you have asked us to provide or to perform an agreement with you.
Legal obligation. Where we need to retain or process information to comply with applicable law.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to the goods newsletter, we use the information you provide to send it to you and manage your subscription.
Our newsletter is currently delivered using Flodesk.
Flodesk may process information such as your email address, name if supplied, subscription status and information about interactions with emails, including opens and clicks where those features are enabled.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before your withdrawal.
We may also suppress an unsubscribed email address rather than deleting it entirely where keeping a minimal record is necessary to ensure that we respect your request not to receive future marketing.
Website analytics
We may use analytics services, including Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the goods. Where required by law, analytics technologies are activated only after you give the relevant cookie consent.
Analytics information can include pages viewed, session information, device and browser information, referral sources and approximate geographic information.
We use this information in aggregate to understand readership and improve the publication. We do not use website analytics to make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.
Cookies

If you email us or submit an enquiry, we will use the information you provide to respond and manage the resulting correspondence.

- photography, film and the goods studio;

Who we share information with
We use a small number of service providers to operate the goods. Depending on how you interact with us, these may include providers of:
- website hosting and content management, including Webflow;
- email marketing, including Flodesk;
- analytics, including Google Analytics;
- cookie consent management, including CookieYes;
- business email and productivity services, including Google Workspace;
- professional services such as accountants, legal advisers or technical contractors.
These providers may process personal information on our behalf in order to provide their services.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect our legal rights, in connection with the sale or restructuring of the business, or where you have instructed or authorised us to do so.
International transfers
Some of the technology providers we use operate internationally, including in the United States.
This means personal information may sometimes be processed outside Portugal or the European Economic Area.
Where data protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we rely on mechanisms recognised under applicable law, such as an adequacy decision, approved contractual safeguards or another lawful transfer mechanism.
GDPR transparency rules specifically require organisations to tell people when international transfers take place and the basis or safeguards used for them.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including legal, accounting and security requirements.
For example:
- newsletter subscriber information is generally retained while you remain subscribed;
- unsubscribe or suppression information may be retained to ensure we respect your marketing preferences;
- business correspondence may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to manage the relationship and maintain appropriate business records;
- financial and contractual records may be retained for the periods required by applicable law;
- analytics and cookie information is retained in accordance with the settings of the relevant service.
We periodically review the information we retain and delete or anonymise information that is no longer required.

California law also gives consumers rights relating to certain uses of sensitive personal information.
We do not sell personal information for money. If we use advertising, analytics or other technologies in a way that legally constitutes “selling” or “sharing” personal information under California law, eligible California residents may have the right to opt out.
